I have a blog. Now what do I do?

So, you have a blog and your own space on the Internet, what next?  
Here are some basic tips to get you started:
        1.   Decide what you want to write about: 
  2.      Draft a blog entry that is interesting and creative
  3.      EDIT your post (see checklist below!)
  4.      If you are writing in word, cut and paste your blog post into your blog and click post
  5.      Congratulations you have your first blog entry.  Now go and read some other blogs and get more ideas.        
 
       Here is a list of ideas for a blog entry.  Please comment below to add your own ideas.
       You could write:
About you: your name, age, birthday, place you were born, etc. and what makes you unique
About your family: mom, dad, brothers and sisters.
Book reviews
Pets you have and how to care for them
Your hobbies: how to make something, step by step instructions
Post photographs
Your personal portfolio for school to showcase all of your learning
Your role models
Your plans after high school
Your favorite foods
Your favorite things to do when not at school
A journal about your life
 Post your own music or art 
Your favorites: songs, movies, actors, actresses, places to eat etc.
Favorite places or cities you’ve visited
Sports updates, profile,s and predictions
Things you like about school: favorite subjects, etc./ don’t like about school.
Things you do for fun
Favorite quotes

Remember that this blog is available for the world to see.  Please make sure that you use your best judgement and THINK before you post:

Writing checklist:
 As with any writing it is important to edit and revise your work.  Please use the following checklist to review your entry before you post.
  •   I’ve read through the entire piece to see if it makes sense.
  •  My writing is focused on one important topic or idea.
  • The title is catchy. It fits the piece.
  • The introduction captures the reader’s interest.
  •  My writing flows logically from one concept to another.
  • I replaced vague words with specific ones.
  •  I deleted unneeded words by combining short sentences.
  •  I shortened sentences that were too long and wordy.
  •  I deleted or replaced overused words.
  •  I checked spelling, punctuation, and capitalization.
  • New paragraphs are indented.
